Ben Brewster – Preacher

Since arriving at Airline more than twenty years ago, Ben has delivered messages focused on God’s amazing grace and kindness. A firm believer that God can do “more than we ask or imagine,” Ben continues to serve primarily through preaching, teaching, and pastoral care.
He believes that Airline is both a people and a place. A people who – intentionally together – are in the process of learning to trust God more; and a place of healing, peace, faith, hope, and love. Airline is truly an oasis in a divided world.
Ben is a grateful follower of Jesus whose greatest claims to fame are that he is the husband of Mendy, the father of Hannah, Drew and Angela, and the father-in-law of Zach.
He holds degrees from Ohio Valley University, Oklahoma Christian University, and Cincinnati Christian University.
Ben’s hobbies include: history, reading, sports (Geaux Tigers) and music.
In 2006, Ben’s book, Torn Asunder: The Civil War and the 1906 Division of the Disciples was published by College Press Publishing Company.
John Dollar

John Dollar is our Youth Minister here at Airline Drive Church of Christ.  He has been in youth ministry for 20 years and is originally from Minden, Louisiana.  He has a Bachelor’s degree in Theater and studied ministry at Abilene Christian University receiving a certification in Biblical studies from the Center, an offshoot of ACU.   John’s passion for youth brought him to Airline in April of 2012.  John wants to equip our youth to be servants of God, creating a lifelong love and relationship with Jesus.  For John, the 6th-12th grade time frame is pivotal in the growth and development of a lasting relationship with Jesus.  The fragility of our kids, during this time in their lives, plays a significant role in what choices they make.  Introducing them to God’s love can make the difference in the path they take for the rest of their lives.

John loves Shreveport-Bossier and is active in the community of students by weekly ministering to the local schools.  His sons are into sports and he takes this opportunity to introduce Christ when coaching and interacting with kids and parents.  John is consistently looking for new opportunities to reach out to new people.  He loves to study God’s word, loves to worship and encourages his students to evangelize their neighbors.  John has been married to wife Kathleen for 15 years.  They have 3 sons, Avery, Elijah and Noah.
